Day 1:

The Call to Follow

Devotional

Following Jesus is more than just a belief; it’s a call to a transformed life. Jesus invites us to follow Him, not just accept Him into our hearts. This means walking the same road with Him daily, developing a personal relationship rather than just following rules. It’s about making discipleship the primary focus of our lives. In Matthew 4:19-22, Jesus calls His first disciples, saying, 'Come, follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people.' At once they left their nets and followed Him. This immediate response shows the urgency and importance of following Jesus without hesitation.

Key Quote: 'Jesus never came up to someone and said, accept me into your heart. That’s what we ask people. Will you accept Jesus into your heart? That’s never what He said. He said, follow me. And the only way you can follow Him is with Him in your heart.'

Question: Are you ready to leave behind your 'nets' and follow Jesus wholeheartedly?

Prayer: Lord, help me to hear Your call and respond without hesitation. Give me the courage to leave behind anything that holds me back from following You fully. Amen.
